The tenth World Wingsuit League (WWL) Wingsuit Flying World Championship will take place at the Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province of China from Sept. 16 to 19, featuring the world's top 16 fliers.
The starting platform for the competition is perched atop a mountain at an elevation of 1,458 meters. The vertical distance between the takeoff and landing points is 990 meters, and the straight-line distance through the air is about 1.3 kilometers.
The competition consists of two main components: speed race and flying through targets.
The speed race follows an S-shaped aerial course, referred to as the "Aerial F1." Each wingsuit flier will be given two flight attempts, with the best time counting as their final result.
The target for the precision fly-through competition is placed between mountain gaps just 15 meters above the Visitors' Square. The target has a maximum diameter of 0.8 meters at the outer ring and 10 centimeters at the center.
Competitors, soaring through the air at incredible speed, must hit the suspended bullseye with precision. Each flier gets two chances, with their final score determined by the total number of rings struck across both attempts.
