On the afternoon of September 23, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Xie Yuansheng, member of the CPC Leadership Group of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Piero Scaruffi, founder and president of Silicon Valley Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (SVAIRI), and other domestic and foreign guests attending the 2024 World Computing Conference.

Attendees included provincial leaders Wu Guiying, Zhou Haibing, and Cao Zhiqiang, as well as Pan Yunhe, Liu Yongjian, and Yang Changfeng, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Qu Hai, secretary general of the People's Government of Hunan Province.

Mao Weiming extended a warm welcome to the domestic and foreign guests attending the 2024 World Computing Conference. He expressed his gratitude to everyone for their long-term concern and support for Hunan's high-quality development, and briefed them on the development of the province's green intelligent computing industry. He hoped that everyone will give full play to the advantages in intelligence, capital, and resources; further increase investment and project layout in Hunan Province; strengthen cooperation in the commercialization of sci-tech achievements; pursue breakthroughs in core technologies across key fields; and, enhance exchanges of high-end talent, so as to better participate in the development of Hunan and create a better future for the computing industry. Hunan will further expand its high-level opening-up, continue to create a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment, and provide the best services and create the best conditions for everyone to develop in Hunan Province, Mao added.

Xie Yuansheng, Piero Scaruffi, and other guests remarked that the World Computing Conference has been successfully held for five sessions, with increasing popularity and influence. The conference has become a high-end and professional exchange platform for the global computing industry to display new technologies, release new achievements, and discuss new trends. Participating guests will give full play to their respective comparative advantages and deepen exchanges and cooperation with Hunan in terms of increasing policy and financial support, strengthening technological advancements, and accelerating the layout of industrial projects, so as to help Hunan accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces.
