Mangshan Mountain Shortlisted for First Group of World Famous Tourism Mountains

The International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports 2024, organized by the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA), kicked off in Xingyi City, Guizhou Province on September 26. The First Group of World Famous Tourism Mountains list was announced at the meeting, including the Jungfrau of Switzerland, Annapurna of Nepal, and Changbai Mountain, Mount Emei, Wugong Mountain, Yulong Snow Mountain, and Chenzhou Mangshan Mountain of China.

Mangshan Mountain is located in Yizhang County, Chenzhou City, and is named for its "vast sea of forests where python appears". With a total area of 33.4 square kilometers and a forest coverage rate of up to 99.6%, it is known as the "second Xishuangbanna" and "South China's natural tree garden". Mangshan Mountain features a mild climate, abundant rainfall, and a wide variety of forest vegetation, forming a unique and interesting pattern.

As "China's First Barrier-Free Mountainous Tourist Attraction", the Wuzhifeng Scenic Area of Mangshan Mountain has continued to promote the deep integration of barrier-free facilities with the natural environment. There are cableways, escalators, self-service "stair climbers", cliff sightseeing elevators, and other facilities, situated at an altitude of 1,400 to 1,600 meters to create a barrier-free tourism channel, allowing visitors to easily access and enjoy the stunning mountaintop scenery.
