The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently released a list of newly-approved national-level logistics hubs. Hunan’s Chenzhou City made the list as a manufacturing service-oriented logistics hub.

NDRC has approved 6 batches of national-level logistics hubs, 151 in total, since 2019. These hubs are located in 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, five municipalities with independent planning authority, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

So far, Hunan has five cities authorized as national-level logistics hubs, namely, Changsha, Yueyang, Hengyang, Huaihua, and Chenzhou, taking the lead nationwide.

Among the 26 newly-approved hubs, 10 are located in the eastern region of the country, 5 in the central region, 9 in the western region, and 2 in the northeastern region. In terms of the types, 3 hubs are land ports; 2 are airports; one is seaport; 8 are manufacturing service-oriented; 9 are business service-oriented; and, 3 are land border ports.

These newly-approved national-level logistics hubs aim to better serve the industrial development and facilitate the reduction of logistics costs; attract various types of factors to prosper the hub economy; and, smooth international logistics channels and promote opening up.
