Collaborated by the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Research Institute (CAETI) and a research team of Hunan University in central China's city of Changsha, the report has set up the Africa Green Development Index and case study of China-Africa green development projects, which could provide references for Chinese and African partners to enhance green development cooperation.

Yu Dunhai, Chinese ambassador to Nigeria, praised the deepening ties between China and Nigeria, adding the exhibition underscored a shared commitment to advancing industrialization, agricultural modernization and sustainable development in Nigeria.

As per the report, the Africa Green Development Index encompasses five primary indicators, which are ecological foundation, resource utilization, environmental governance, green assurance and inclusive development. The report also highlights the vast potential of China-Africa green development cooperation, as China and African countries have cooperated in many important projects, namely the "Great Green Wall of Africa" initiative, which is designed to halt the encroachment of the Sahara Desert and provide ecological, economic, and social benefits to thousands of millions of people living in the region.

The report reflects the consensus reached on enhancing China-Africa green development cooperation at the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Beijing this September and refers to advancing an eco-friendly modernization, which will lift China-Africa green cooperation to a higher level, the institute said in a statement.?

Over 350 guests of government officials, business leaders, representatives of financial institutions, scholars and media from China, Nigeria, Kenya, Malawi and other places attend the event.?
