2024 Tongguan Kushui Art Season to Be Held

The 2024 Tongguan Kushui Art Season will take place at the riverbank beside Tongguan Historic Street in Tongguan Neighborhood, Wangcheng District, Changsha from December 29, 2024 to February 29, 2025. Set against the backdrop of lush trees on Yunmu Mountain, rosy clouds over the Xiangjiang River, and millennia-old kiln fires, the event will bring a feast of art to residents and tourists.

The art season is curated by Chinese artist Huang Yugang and brings together 11 artists from Hunan and abroad. There will be two open exhibition areas. One of them is located at the riverbank beside Tongguan Historic Street and Tongguan No. 8 Plant. Exhibits in this area include "A Driftwood" by Zhou Jiansheng; "Rainbow" by Zhang Du; "There Is a Place Called Mingyue Pond" by Yang Jianjue; "Bubble Tricolore" by Arnd Christian Müller; "Evaporated Harbour" by Bill Aitchison; "Nursery Rhymes by Waterside" by Xiao Xiaoqiu; "Jinzhushan Plan" by Huang Yugang; "Walking Along the Bank of the Xiangjiang River Toward the North" by Li Ren, and "The Enlightenment of Breaking the Seal" by Fang Enda, and "Fire Dance" by Liu Jiahao, Peng Wangqiu, and their teams as well as all artists in Tongguan. The other open exhibition area focuses on studios in Tongguan, displaying products in various fields such as ceramic art, sculpture, oil painting, Chinese ink painting, art installation, and tie-dyeing.
