The National Commission of Development and Reform recently issued a plan for optimizing and adjusting the layout of national logistics hubs. Twenty-six national-level logistics hub cities were added, including Hunan's Yongzhou land port and Changde production-oriented service logistics hubs.

A National logistics hub is an important center for logistics resource allocation and activity organization, and a pivot point for effective reduction of logistics costs for the whole society. These hubs play a vital role in gathering and integrating all kinds of logistics resources and promoting regional economic development. After the optimization and adjustment of the layout of national logistics hubs, there are now 229 national logistics hubs in 152 national logistics hub cities in China.

Hunan's Changsha, Hengyang, Yueyang, Chenzhou, Huaihua, Yongzhou, and Changde have been selected as national logistics hub cities. These seven cities account for about 5% of the total number of cities nationwide. There are three land port logistics hubs in Changsha, Hengyang, and Yongzhou; one port logistics hub in Yueyang; one airport logistics hub in Changsha; three production-oriented service logistics hubs in Changsha, Changde, and Chenzhou; and two commerce-oriented service logistics hubs in Changsha and Huaihua. Among these, the national logistics hubs of Changsha land port, Changsha production-oriented services, Yueyang port, Hengyang land port, Huaihua commerce-oriented services, and Chenzhou production-oriented services have been included in the national major construction list.

"From the four hubs layout in Changsha to the distinctive hubs in Hengyang, Yueyang, Chenzhou, Huaihua, Yongzhou, and Changde, Hunan's national logistics hub cities arrangement presents a diversified yet comprehensive development trend," said a spokesperson for the Development and and Reform Commission of Hunan Province. Along with the process of construction and the operation of the national logistics hubs, the authority will integrate and optimize the allocation of social logistics resources in the province, improving the efficiency of logistics and the quality of service, and promoting the reduction of logistics costs for the whole society. This will attract more related industries to gather, and boost the high-quality development of the economy.
