An exchange activity titled "Changsha Intangible Cultural Heritage Promoted in Hong Kong", also the launch ceremony for the "Ten thousand Hong Kong Residents Touring Changsha" Event, took place in Hong Kong from February 7 to 10. The event was hosted by the Asia Tourism Exchange Center and the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television.

During the event, Hong Kong tourism influencers were invited to serve as recommenders and promote Changsha's intangible cultural heritage tourism routes, displays and experience activities, and performances, as well as photo exhibitions, in an immersive manner.

Spokespersons for the Dawangshan Tourism Resort, Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town China-chic Paradise, and Qindao Performing Arts Center, as well as representatives of Malanshan's cultural and creative enterprises, made presentations on site.?

Hong Kong has long been a key source of tourists for Changsha. In 2024, the slogan "Happy Changsha, Charming Star City" was prominently featured at the 38th International Travel Expo Hong Kong, and Changsha also carried out cultural tourism promotion activities at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and metro stations throughout Hong Kong.

Last year, Changsha was among the top four popular tourist destinations for Hong Kong residents heading north. The city received 777,800 inbound tourist visits in the year. Among them, 179,500 visits were made by tourists from Hong Kong and Macao, accounting for 23% of the total number of inbound tourist visits.

During this year's Spring Festival holiday, the number of visits made by Hong Kong tourists and their spending increased by 131.47% and 159.79%, respectively.
