(ECNS) -- Experiencing tea picking and processing in east China's Zhejiang Province on Sunday, a tourist from the UK said Britons generally prefer drinking black tea with milk and sugar. Yet, at home, he enjoys drinking Chinese green tea.
Shan Long (transliteration) said Chinese tea tastes better, featuring a very smooth texture, while participating in the "Initial Exploration of Tea" experience.
Chinese and foreign people walk in the tea garden on March 30, 2025.
The event was held at the Baoguo Temple Ancient Architecture Museum in Ningbo City, attracting nearly 30 participants from China and abroad, including visitors from the UK, Australia, and France. Attendees engaged in tea picking and processing, immersing themselves in the rich traditions of Chinese tea culture.
In the tea garden, guided by detailed explanations and assistance, international visitors carried bamboo baskets, carefully plucking fresh tea buds.
The tea picking site was filled with laughter and joy as everyone enjoyed the process of tea picking from the branches, gaining a more direct understanding of Chinese tea culture.
Later, the stir-frying tea area became the focal point. A tea master poured the fresh tea leaves into a scalding hot pan, and the sound of sizzling filled the air. The master skillfully demonstrated the tea-making process, filling the air with a rich tea fragrance.
Under the master's guidance, visitors tried their hands at the process. Although their techniques varied, each person was fully immersed, appreciating the charm of the traditional stir-frying tea craft.
For Marina, a visitor from Spain, this was a wonderful experience that allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of China.
She said that from the intricacies of tea drinking to the "Five Elements" philosophy, the tea master provided them with detailed explanations and demonstrations.
